Crafting the Highland Cow Wall Quilt

This project was inspired by the Highland Cow Quilt Block Pattern from Gracey, the designer behind Burlap and Blossom Patterns. Her pattern is beautifully detailed, with clear, easy-to-follow instructions and multiple size options. I chose the 18-inch block and added a border to finish at 24 inches.

To make it my own, I made a few custom tweaks — adjusting the horn width and adding eyes for extra personality. Before diving in, I studied the pattern closely to understand the construction, then sketched out my alterations to adjust piece sizes and assembly steps.
