Blah Blah Blah Quilt... the Cover Quilt
Every so often, a fabric collection lands in your hands and just gets you. For me, that was Ruby Star Society’s Salutations. Its cheerful, “happy mail” vibes spoke straight to my stationery-and-fabric-loving heart, inspiring a quilt that captures that energy, even on days when all you feel is a little… blah.

Bridging Two Loves
Salutations bridges two of my passions: the quiet joy of snail mail and the tactile delight of fabric. Designed by the wonderful Rashida Coleman Hale, this collection celebrates the charm of stationery and handwritten notes.

Have you ever tried to write a heartfelt note, only for the words to escape you? All that comes to mind is “blah”? That feeling is exactly what inspired my newest quilt pattern, BLAH BLAH BLAH.

From Blah to Joy
Embracing the “blah,” each block transforms chaos into playful order... perfect for those days that feel overwhelming, absurd, or just plain “too much.”

Watching this quilt come together is pure delight, turning what starts as a little “meh” into something unexpectedly joyful. It’s a reminder that even when life feels blah, making (sewing) can turn it into happiness.

Curiosity Stitched In
To highlight the mood of the quilt, I chose the Clue pantograph, full of whimsical question marks, a playful nod to the “blah” feeling. Even on overwhelming or nonsensical days, these marks bring curiosity, humor, and a touch of drama to every stitch.

Make It Your Own
The BLAH BLAH BLAH quilt pattern is fat-quarter friendly, uses my favorite stitch-and-flip method, and comes in four sizes — from baby to king.
While the quilt leans into “blah” days, the fabrics you choose give it your personal voice: bright and playful, soft and dreamy, or dark and moody.

Your Turn to Play
BLAH BLAH BLAH is available now! I can’t wait to see how you turn a little “blah” into something joyful.
