The Inspiration Behind Sir Beary Liberty

Growing up, the Fourth of July was a big celebration for my family. Some years we attended the festivities at Fort Sam Houston before 9/11, where the grounds were filled with live music, booths, parades, and fireworks after sunset. Other years were spent at home grilling hamburgers and hotdogs, gathering with family, and setting off fireworks in the street with neighbors.

Those memories of celebration, family traditions, patriotic pride, and summertime festivities became part of the inspiration behind Sir Beary Liberty. Dressed in patriotic red, white, and blue, he captures the nostalgic spirit of Independence Day through the beauty of fabric and quilting.
