Introducing St. Beary Patrick… from the Beary Bunch Block Series
Meet St. Beary Patrick. He’s festive and full of charm... from his classic top hat and cheerful beard to the pot of gold and rainbow he proudly holds. He’s a St. Patrick’s Day–inspired bear with a playful spirit and a timeless holiday feel.
With his bold details and cheerful personality, St. Beary Patrick makes a joyful addition to seasonal decor... perfect for makers looking to stitch something festive and full of lucky charm for March.
The block uses traditional piecing with the stitch-and-flip method, making it approachable for confident beginners and enjoyable for experienced makers alike.

Design Notes from the Studio
St. Beary Patrick was designed to capture the lighthearted spirit of St. Patrick’s Day without feeling over-the-top. His tall hat and full beard give him a classic silhouette, while the pot of gold and rainbow add a playful storytelling moment.
The goal with St. Beary Patrick was to balance a classic bear shape with thoughtful holiday details that tell a story. His bright orange beard adds warmth and contrast, while the pot of gold and rainbow offer a sense of playful celebration.

By combining features from the original Beary Bunch quilt... specifically the Love Bear face, this block maintains cohesion with the series while highlighting St. Beary Patrick’s own unique charm. As the face was thoughtfully adjusted to accommodate his bright orange beard, and his feet were customized with shamrock-inspired details that reinforce the St. Patrick’s Day theme without overwhelming the bear as a whole.

Color Notes: Confetti Cotton Solids
St. Beary Patrick’s palette uses Riley Blake Designs Confetti Cotton Solids in classic greens and warm accents to keep the block lively, balanced, and unmistakably St. Patrick’s Day.
- Kiwi – Bear Fabric
- Froggy – Bear Highlight Fabric
- Cheddar and Pumpkin – Accent A and B Fabrics (beard)

- Licorice, Riley Mustard, Cider, Brownie – Accent D-G Fabrics (pot and gold coins)

Sewing Thoughts
This block uses the stitch-and-flip method throughout. Take extra care with the direction of your flips... especially in the rainbow and pot sections, so angles align cleanly and the details stay sharp. A quick pause to double-check placement before stitching goes a long way here.
