The Sweet Columbine Quilt Pattern was inspired by one of my favorite wildflowers, the “Golden Columbine”. It is a delicate but showy spring bloomer that creates a pretty five star petaled flower with backward pointing spurs. The foliage is fern-like which have three leaflets with three lobes, that remind me of clover.
The pattern is skilled for an intermediate quilter, as it involves the stitch and flip method, 1" finished pieces, on-point blocks, sashing, as well as working with bias edges for the outer half blocks.
