Get ready for a stunning chaotic masterpiece, filled with color, creativity, and a whole lot of fun!

Hey there, it's Kelly Renay here! I'm super excited to get to share this fun quilt with you today, using the fabulous new batiks collection, Neon Pop, by Riley Blake Designs, with my Utter Chaos quilt pattern.

Typically batiks aren't a fabric that I use, but the Neon Pop collection shouted pick me, pick me. You know sometimes fabric just speaks to you.

What is Neon Pop, Batik Fabric?

The Neon Pop collection includes 36 polka dot prints that are composed of traditional and unique color combinations. With a wonderful mix of cool vs warm and pastels vs saturated. If you are a lover of polka dots, like I am, you are going to really enjoy the Neon Pop collection!

This batik fabric is vibrant, bold, and full of life. Think of it as the fabric equivalent of that friend who always brings the fun wherever they go. You know the one. With Neon Pop, your projects will surely POP!

What is the Utter Chaos Quilt Pattern?

The Utter Chaos Quilt Pattern is exactly what it sounds like - a beautiful mess of colors and shapes that somehow come together to create a stunning quilt.

Utter Chaos is a playful pattern that has to be completed step by step. It's like organized chaos, but in fabric form. Because, piecing one block at a time is impossible.

You need at least 2 pieces of fabric from either scraps, charm packs or layer cakes in order to construct one block. It is the ultimate mix and match quilt. Click here for all the details about the Utter Chaos Quilt Pattern. Who knew chaos could be so stunning?

Why Neon Pop with Utter Chaos?

When selecting which Neon Pop fabrics I wanted to use, I couldn't narrow it down. So why not use them all?

Once I received the fabric I was blown away with how vibrant and pretty the whole Neon Pop collection was. I'm sure you will be too! Blown away that is.

And, since I wanted to showcase all 36 Neon Pop fabrics, I knew my Utter Chaos quilt pattern would show them off nicely. In a chaotic but stunning manner.

So, I cut 2 - 10" squares from each fabric to make the "Layer Cake" friendly version of the Utter Chaos quilt pattern. Doing so created a custom size at 6x6 blocks at 70x70" a wonderful large throw or double bed sized quilt.

How to Add a Finishing Touch?

Since the Utter Chaos quilt has minimal waste from using pre-cuts, and I had started from yardage I wanted to best utilize more of the Neon Pop fabric. Because it's fabulous!

So, I decided to make a scrappy binding. I cut 2 - 2 1/2 x 10" pieces each, and sewed them on the bias to make the binding. I still have enough binding leftover for another quilt! YAY!

Now that I've made my first project with batiks, I'm finding myself appreciating them more.

Whether you select a few color ways or choose them all, like I did, you won't go wrong with these Neon Pop fabrics. They'll surely add a pop to your next project! Which is hopefully, Utter Chaos, wink, wink!
