A Bag Full of Color + Joy... featuring an FPP surprise
After finishing the first set of project bags for my niece, you can read that post here → Personalized Project Bags, I couldn’t shake the feeling that she needed one more to round out the collection. Especially since she’s a creative preteen with a growing stash of sketchbooks, pens, and little treasures. So I decided to add one final bag to the Christmas gift trio, something bigger and extra practical for all her artsy adventures.
This time I stitched up the Pack It In 2.0 pattern by ByAnnie in the large size. It’s structured, roomy, and wonderfully sturdy, basically the perfect “everything bag” for a kid who loves to keep her creative world close at hand.

Adding a Joyful FPP + Vinyl Detail
To make this bag feel connected to the others, I added another foundation paper pieced detail. I used the Joy Star Block by Quilty Pie Handmade, a sweet design that looks incredible in bold solids. It adds just the right amount of spark to the back panel and ties right in with the other FPP accents I included in her earlier bags.
Then for the bag's front panel, I swapped the usual mesh for clear vinyl, which lets her see what’s inside while keeping everything secure.

The Same Modern Mix of Color + Contrast
I stayed with the same Riley Blake Designs fabrics so all the bags coordinate beautifully when she opens them on Christmas. This one features:
-
Dapple Dot in Black
-
Swiss Dot on White Black
-
1/8" Stripe Black and White
-
Confetti Cottons in: Riley Fuchsia, Riley Raspberry, Bubblegum, Passion, Papaya, Citron, Riley Teal, and Poolside
The combination of dots, stripe, and vibrant solids gives the bag a modern, playful look and really lets the Joy Star block shine.

A Bag Ready for Big Ideas
The large Pack It In 2.0 has plenty of space for all the sketchbooks, pens, notebooks, and surprises I know she’ll tuck inside. I cannot wait to see her reaction on Christmas!
Handmade gifts always feel extra magical, and this one is no exception.
